Wonderful for growing potatoes. They retain more water and help prevent pest infestations, also allowing detailed control over the fertilization and pH of the soil. 9/10, would drive on and bury again!
I’m already drinking daily in preparation for my Irish transition.

Just a quick question. Is there anyway the toxins could leach out from those tires into your potatoes? Seems.... I dunno kinda risky.

The best thing about tires is that they’re probably okay with minimal exposure to raccoon pee. Or so the internet has told me.

Tire planters are a pretty tried and true method, even among hippies. I think we’re okay...plus the tires are 10+ years old and have probably off-gassed just about everything.

As the tire degrades, yes. How long does it take for the degradation to occur? Many many growing season. I side on caution and dont use them any more but shouldn’t be problematic for at least 10 years.

Thanks! One is 7.5 and the other is about to turn 5 next week. It’s a 24/7 job, especially working from home like I do. Summer will be fun :D
